Tourist
Information
Over a period of 30 years, the RPSI has been
at the forefront of attracting tourism to Ireland, mainly through what
is nowadays known as the "specialist holiday". Ireland is a small
country, but a beautiful one. North and South, we pride ourselves
on a friendly personal service to all who travel our way - come
and experience the Emerald Isle by steam train and you will not be disappointed!
Although our main base is at Whitehead,
Co Antrim (Northern Ireland), the majority of our trains operate from Belfast
or Dublin to various destinations. Most are day trips taking families,
office parties, corporate entertainment groups, or just you and your friends
out for a unique day out. We've even had Wedding Trains! Savour the
atmosphere of travel in the golden age of steam, and enjoy the countryside
from the comfort of your seat or from our snack and bar car.
Travel
/ Tourist Website Links
There a number of websites specifically made
to provide information on accomodation and travel within and to Ireland.
We recommend the websites of the national
tourist boards:
-
Visitdublin.com
provides plenty of information on events taking place in the Republic's
capital, as well as helping you find deals on accomodation etc. This service
will be especially useful for those travelling on our annual May
Tours, which frequently involve overnight stays in Dublin, as well
as providing suggestions of other activities for those who can get
enough of steam!
