 | The freshly restored steam engine No.461 - which is nearly 90 years old - will
take you for a short ten-minute trip to give you the sights, sounds and
smells of steam train travel. |

|
You'll
travel in coach 68 - also recently restored - to experience the style
and comfort of train travel in the golden age of steam.
|
 | The Award-Winning brake van No.81 'Ivan' will also be part of the train. Inside, you'll find out about the life of that largely forgotten figure, the Goods Guard. |
 | Recently refurbished Dining Car 87 will be on hand to provide hot drinks and snacks. |
 | Most of our impressive collection of locomotives will be on show as static exhibits, including the famous No.171 'Slieve Gullion'. |
 | Guided tours may include a visit to the well-equipped locomotive workshop - depending on what kind of work is being done there at the time!
Dominated
by the massive 1897-built overhead crane, the workshop is presently in
use for the overhaul of No.85 Merlin.

 | You
may be surprised by the size of Whitehead's Carriage Shed. It's 400
feet long, but still can only hold a small selection of our vast
collection of carriages! |
