If you had been at Whitehead on Tuesday 24th August 2004, then you could have witnessed scenes like this: The mid-week volunteer gang have been working hard over the summer to put in wiring for the machines in the locomotive workshop.  From left to right - Ken, Edward, James, Tony, Christopher and Johnny all look very pleased with their work. Meanwhile, over in the foundry our full time staff are preparing a casting of a gear wheel for a machine in the workshop.  Here they are preparing the cast... ...before turning it over to reveal the shape of the gear wheel and... ...tidying up....not like hoovering at home!
