Dublin Area Work and Photo Update
January and February 2011
Since early January 2011 the regular Saturday work crew have been working away on the next Craven for restoration and repainting.

Cravens carriage 1506 , which has yet to see service in RPSI outings was chosen purely for its location and access.

Work to date has included the sanding down of all the side panels and windows surrounds. As with all the other Cravens it has been and continues to be a continuing discovery as we unearth many  previously repaired bumps and dents that require new attention.

Much time has been spent chipping back rust from the under frames and bogies in preparation for a first coat of rust proofing.

This was a dirty, dusty, repetitive, and often boring job, but with a system of job rotating and hard work by all, the first coat of paint has finally started.

When this is complete we will start filling all the imperfections on the body work.

Next the task of masking will be completed at which stage we can begin undercoating and then finally apply the finishing top coat of paint.

It is a slow tedious process but the determined team work away and will achieve a first class finish before 1506 is put into service.

Some photos with various members of the Dublin Team, many unrecognisable with all the PPE!
