Notable for No.4 failing on the first day at Bansha, east of Tipperary. Th rest of the tour was diesel-hauled. Saturday 11th May: (4) Dublin Heuston - Limerick Junction - Carrick-on-Suir - Bansha; (GM 055+4) Bansha - Limerick Junction; (GM 055) Limerick Junction - Limerick. No.4 failed near MP 29 after bursting a boiler tube, rescued by 055. Sunday 12th May: (GM 161) Limerick - Athenry - Galway - Athlone - Portarlington - Dublin Connolly; (GM 038) Dublin Connolly - Dundalk; (GM 108) Dundalk - Belfast Central; (GM 055+4 LE) Limerick - Inchicore. Cravens until Dundalk when NIR’s 108 worked forward with RPSI coaches. Monday 13th May: (GM 108) Belfast Central - Lisburn - Antrim - Londonderry - Belfast YR - Whitehead.

11/5/1990: 055 has left No.4 at the Junction, and will take the train to Limerick. Meanwhile the lineside bus passengers are stranded at Tipperary as the diesel driver was unaware of a stop required. A bus had to be called to pick them up! (J.A. Cassells)
