Our NCC 2-6-4T tank locomotive came out of service in 2020 and entered the Workshop in 2024 for overhaul. A boiler lift is required.

6/5/2024: No.4 in the workshop for initial dismantling.

1/10/2024: The locomotive has been turned to face Larne and dismantling of the superheaters has commenced. (A. Lohoff)

1/10/2024: A nut being heated to facilitate element removal. (A. Lohoff)

1/10/2024: The first four elements removed, exposing the big tubes. (A. Lohoff)

8/12/2024: The stripped down boiler in the workshop.

8/12/2024: The disassembled motion elements laid out for inspection.

15/2/2025: Piston valves being removed.
