The latest arrival (18th August 2022) at Whitehead is coach BR fleet number 5188, a 64 seater Tourist Standard Open Mk2z design vehicle built in 1966. It is fitted with steam heating and vacuum braked, but requires a Secondary Door Locking system to be fitted. The vehicle, in overall good internal and external condition.
The carriage is of similar design to our carriages 301 and 302, except that both toilets have been removed leaving an extended lobby at one end.
This high density seating carriage will be a welcome addition to our main line set in due course. It will be numbered 306 in the RPSI Mk2 fleet.
