This former Irish Rail Mk2d coach arrived at Whitehead in 2008 having narrowly escaped scrapping.
It is a vacuum-braked, air-conditioned standard open delivered to CIE in 1972 as part of the 'Super Train' fleet.
Like the rest of the ex CIÉ Mk2 fleet, 303 has a small brake compartment at one end.
