ItineraryDublin to Waterford, Limerick & return
Price£57.50 / €65
We are delighted to announce our next diesel day tour, organised to raise funds for restoring our vintage fleet of diesel locomotives.
The requested motive power is 071 Class General Motors diesel locomotives with changes in Waterford and Limerick.
The tour will begin from Dublin Connolly and head towards Waterford where it is intended to swap locomotives. From here, travelling over the Tipperary branch, we will arrive in Limerick. It is intended to change locomotives here again before the traversing the Nenagh branch to Ballybrophy. After running round in Ballybrophy, the train will travel for a short distance down the Cork mainline as far as Thurles. This will be the final run around on the train before returning to Dublin Connolly.
All funds raised by this trip will be going directly to the restoration of GM 121 class 134, currently under overhaul in Inchicore Works. We are hoping to see her and the 141 class hauling our future RPSI diesel tours.
