This will be the first ever railtour to feature a pair of 071 class locomotives operating in multiple!
The tour will depart from Dublin Connolly and head south along the mainline to Cork. It will retrace its steps northwards along the challenging climb out of Cork before arrival into Mallow, before heading down the Kerry line for Tralee. There will be a service break in Tralee before the train begins its return via Killarney to Dublin Connolly.
Several photo stops along the route will also be a feature on the day.
For passengers in the south of the country, a number of tickets have been made available as an option to travel with on the Cork-Tralee-Mallow section. This will allow passengers to join the train in Cork for the climb to Mallow and then down the branch to Tralee before returning via Killarney and experience the long climb out of Killarney towards Mallow. The fare for this option of the tour is €35 for adults and €16 for children.
